How did I get into cooking? Well, like a chicken to an egg - it just happened at some point. Originally it was supposed to be quite different: From studying web design, I ended up with web videos, and that eventually became HausmannKocht. But to be honest, I already had my first cooking videos in the can 11 years ago. Back then, unfortunately, I gave it up again for family reasons - who knows what would have become of it otherwise. But now I'm here, and the spoon stays in my hand!

Why Hausmann?

Because I just like it! I made a conscious decision to be a househusband. And if you do the housework, you also fire up the stove. I help my wife, look after the kids - and cook for you! Because one thing is clear: everyone has to eat.

My way into the kitchen?

Even as a child, I loved looking into my mother's pots and pans (and sometimes reaching in). At the hotel management school in Bad Hofgastein, I finally got it - but the working hours in gastronomy? Thanks, no! But I never let go of it completely: further training, workshops, books without end - and above all try & error. And believe me, I made mistakes often enough.

What can you expect at HausmannKocht?

A bit of everything: cooking, baking, fermenting, brewing beer, preserving - I have to try everything. I love good food (you can see that in my weight, right? 😄), and I share that with you.

My heart beats for slow cooking. A dish can take time - because if I'm going to cook it, I want to have 9 portions at the end. Bolognese? Eight jars full! Cook once, enjoy nine times - practical, isn't it?

I also take my time when baking. A bread with a long dough rise? Heavenly! A quick bread? I can buy that too. I only serve the best from the pot and oven, always made with love.
